LA is so wierd. I was at this thing for General Hospital last night (are you all going to make fun of me if I wind up doing something on a soap, or will you watch? or maybe both?) and some of the other girls there were talking about how strange LA is and how offsetting people can be...odd...I just wish everyone was real and non-judgemental. It's going to take getting used to, but LA is good. I move into my own place, well, with a roommate, next week so that'll be nice. It's pilot season, so things are CRAZY, but I'll get used to it. I wish I could see you guys on a regular basis, but I'll be home in a few months or so...happy new year! A friend said to me the other day, it's the year of James Bond...007, I said, you're a dork, and we laughed. But now I'm gonna call it that.

Guess where I was last night...just try...wanna know? I was at the Pirates of the Caribbean 3 wrap party at the Hotel Roosevelt in Hollywood! Well, initially I was at my cousin's for Chanukah, but I left around 8:30 because since my friend Marc just got hired as asst set designer for National Treasure 2 on the Disney lot, he got invited to the party and could bring one guest. It was AMAZING. Considering it was my first big Hollywood party and it was such a big budget film and party(it was obvious that they set several million aside on their budget in order to throw this), others are not going to live up to it, well, some will. Johnny Depp and Kiera Knightly were not there, but a lot of the pirates were, tons of young hollywood (it was neat to see them) and Orlando Bloom. He kept smiling at me and honestly, I couldn't tell if it was him or a look-a-like because there were at least 5 other people who looked just like him(I guess to distract the press/fans), and after the second smile I asked my friends I was with, "am I imagining this or is that Orlando Bloom?" They started freaking out and looking around, which made me laugh cuz while I think it's cool it doesn't phase me, but when I was in the VIP doorway, security said, "should we open the back door for Mr. Bloom?" so I wasn't crazy, it was him. A few minutes later, a stunning, leggy brunette headed over to the VIP section and security wouldn't let her in. She said, "But Orlando invited me". I had to stay and watch to see if she got in, and sure enough about 5 minutes later, while security was hoovering around her, Orlando Bloom came out, gave her a huge hug and brought her in, then he looked at me again and smiled again, and I just started laughing. My friends were like, He IS looking at you, and again, I laughed. Towards the end they gave out copies of Pirates 2 to everyone who was there. There were close to 500 people I'd say, the entire crew, lots of cast, the producers and guests of those invited. The food that was catered was amazing, there were Cirque du Soleil performers, dance floors, about 7 rooms and the entire pool deck outside all in pirate lights, screens everywhere playing special behind the scenes footage and there were 4 open bars, but considering I'm at the airport currently waiting to board the plane to come home, I didn't drink, although I would have liked to honestly. Well, that was a nice way to end this leg of the move. I'm home until new years, and I would love to see everyone. It feels like I've been gone for months! So we'll have to play, ok?

Another Thanksgiving come and gone. it was nice, very small, but nice. My Dad was really sick and couldn't come out of his room to join us for dinner. I didn't even see my dad once today and we were in the same house from 12:30pm on. For the first time for as long as I can remember we did not watch AVALON because Dad was sick. My family watches AVALON every Thanksgiving and 4th of July, and we didn't today. I know it's silly, but it upset me because it broke tradition. It just didn't feel right and now I'm going back to California again and everything just feels strange. Ryan joined my family for Thanksgiving tonight because he couldn't go home due to his performance schedule. That was nice, but he was really tired so he didn't stay late. All three of my brothers were in town and here but something just felt off. Maybe I'm just feeling off. It's always nice to get messages from people who you haven't talked to in a long time saying Happy Thanksgiving. That always puts a smile on my face. Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, and enjoy the upcoming holidays.

Ok, so yesterday I tried to reinstate myself in the union AFTRA (for television and radio) because of the commercial that I had done because since it's a sister union of SAG(Screen Actors Guild), once I'm in good standing (meaning paying up dues) for AFTRA then between 1-12 months I'll be SAG Eligible which is what I need to be in LA at first. Well, it turns out that I am ALREADY SAG ELIGIBLE because it was a SAG project because of the company and the fact that it was shot on film. So that means I have been SAG eligible for 17 years and didn't know it. The reason that is so wonderful it because that is exactly what I needed to establish myself as (in terms of credibility and notoriety) and now it's a check off of my list and agents can look at me if they want and I can be called for union stuff while building my resume with non union. IN OTHER NEWS, I am MOVING TO LA on October 24. I will be gone from the 11-15 as well, but the official move date is October 24. I would really like to see as many people as possible before I go, so please call me, or leave a message here or something so that we can see each other.

Ok, so last night was august 27th, the national holiday that is my grandfather's birthday. He was 79 and we took him to this wonderful chinese restaurant in falls church that is famous for Peking Duck, his favorite. So we were laughing and talking the whole time (what else is new from my family, right?) and they had put us behind a french door type thing so we had our own "private" room. So at the end of the meal we all opened our fortune cookies one by one, starting with Pop-pop. Now, in our family you always say "in bed" after the fortune because it's stupid and funny and makes us all laugh. Ok, this restaurant wins for best fortunes ever, everybody's was either hysterical because of what it said or because it made absolutely no sense! The best two however were mine and ryan's. Ryan opened his before me, he was #3 out of the bunch. and he said, "I have nothing" we were like, what do you mean? he did not have a fortune!!! On one side was a word to learn in chinese which is on the back of fortune cookies, but the other side was just his lucky numbers...he did not have a fortune! We all laughed, and without thinking I said, "well then you get nothing in bed." Ivan looked at me (as did my mother and father) and I suddenly realized what I had said and turned so red I matched the carpet and started laughing so hard I couldn't catch my breath, I was so embarrassed! So I opened up my fortune, caught my breath, read it, and absolutely lost it! I couldn't read it! I handed it to Ivan who read it to himself and started laughing hysterically, so he passes it over to my father who reads it allowed, my fortune said, "Bend the rod while it is still hot..." and my father added, "in bed" and we all lost it!!! Ryan had nothing in bed and I had bend the rod while it is still hot in bed!! Now what gets even better is the chinese word on the back of ryan's fortune was "birthday", and two of the numbers side by side under lucky numbers were 2, 13...Ryan's birthday is february 13th! I have not laughed that hard in the longest time. When we left the restaurant, one table looked at us and went, "What was so funny back there?" I said, "they have very entertaining fortunes here!" I have both fortunes in my wallet if anyone wants to verify this story if they don't believe it...seriously! You can't make something like this up!!!!

Alright everybody...I got cast as the lead ingenue role in my FIRST PROFESSIONAL SHOW and I would love it if you all could come out and support both me and the show. This isn't college anymore, it's REAL so I would love all the support I can get from you guys! The show is called FRIENDSHIP BETRAYED by Maria de Zayas. It's a classical spanish play that has been adapted into modern english. It's really fun, it's one of those who loves who, who's cheating on who with who, who really wants who...one of those fun ones. ANYWAYS, it plays at WAREHOUSE THEATRE at 1021 7th Street NW in Washington D.C., right by the Gallery Place Metro. It's part of the Washington Women in Theatre summer festival of new play unplugged so it only shows 3 times. Thursday July 13 and Saturday July 15 @ 8:00p.m. and then Sunday July 16 @ 3:00p.m. The tickets are $22 and you can get them either at the door or call 703-237-0711. Please take the time and come!! I leave for LA just a few weeks later and it would make me so happy if I see your faces in the audience and after the show. Please come! any questions at all PLEASE call me or respond here. Thanks!

So I got offered the lead female ingenue role in a show with Washington Women in Theatre today after my third audition...yay. So now I'm here for July and then I'll be in LA for august (i was able to switch the TVI program to the august session). So yeah, that's it. Have a fun memorial day! I'll be in New York and I'll be able to see Ry for a bit of it, so that'll be nice. Hopefully we'll be able to see each other a lot this summer...that would be my hope!
